Annesdale is a large Victorian House built by local builders Pattinson & Son for a Lancashire textile industrialist in 1862 from local stone and green slate.

Originally set in a large estate, parts of the grounds were gradually sold off as Windermere grew in size.

The beautiful mature gardens were laid by Thomas Mawson, who used to design most of the large gardens in the area. We are very proud of the garden and our guests are welcome to enjoy the plants and wildlife at their leisure.

You may even spot the local deer who have developed a fondness for eating our precious plants!
